Interpretations

Interpretar es tratar de explicar el sentido de una palabra, de un sentimiento o un hecho de un modo personal, ya sea en forma de palabras, música, lágrimas, pintura, risas e incluso diseño.
Las interpretaciones son siempre únicas y marcadas por nuestras vivencias personales, nuestra historia, nuestra cultura, nuestras pasiones…
Y son  la pasión por el punto, los contrastes y las similitudes lo que cada año une a la diseñadora finlandesa Veera Välimäki y a la argentina Joji Locatelli en Interpretations.

To interpret means trying to explain the meaning of a word, a feeling or a fact in form of words, music, tears, colors, laughter or even design.
Interpretations are always unique and marked by personal experiences, our history, culture, or passion...
And certainly the passion for knitting, the contrast and similarities are which each year connects the Finnish designer Veera Välimäki and the Argentinian designer Joji Locatelli at Interpretations. 

Interpretations es una forma novedosa e interesante de enfocar el diseño de prendas de punto y que hace unas semanas presentaba ya su tercera edición y (por fin) en papel de la mano de PomPom Press de la revista Pom Pom.

En cada volumen de Interpretations, Joji y Veera escogen seis palabras que tienen un fuerte significado para ellas. De la interpretación que cada diseñadora hace de esas palabras nace una prenda, que deja entrever sus vivencias, experiencia y un proceso creativo largo y meditado.

Interpertations is a new and interesting way to approach knitwear design, a pattern collection which some weeks ago presented their third edition (finally) in printed paper version by the hand of PomPom Press, the editions of Pom Pom.
At each volume of Interpretations Joji and Veera choose six words that have a special meaning to them. Out of the interpretations that each designer makes of these words a new knitwear is born, giving a glimps of their life lessons, experience and containing a long and meditated creative process.

Prendas atemporales tejidas con fibras naturales  que son fieles al estilo de cada creadora, pero que sorprendentemente se presenta en una colección de patrones exquisita y completamente equilibrada e inspiradora.

Cada colección se presenta además con una sesión de fotos mágica, en paisajes como Argentina, en el volumen 1, Finlandia para el segundo, y la ciudad medieval de Postdam en el último libro. Sin duda, el broche de oro para un proyecto de ensueño.

The results are timeless garmentes knitted with natural fibers that are faithful to the style of each creator, presented in an exquisite and fully balanced pattern collection.
Each collection is presented through a magic foto session, in countries as Argentina, at the first volume, Finland for the second and the medieval German city of Potsdam for their third book. Certainly the final touch for a dreamlike project.

Ahora además estos tres volúmenes de 12 patrones cada uno, los podéis encontrar en papel, libros que harán las delicias de los apasionados del punto.
